Artspace and ArtWorks are pleased to present
Willian Pope.L's Black Factory
Thursday, July 13, 1-5 PM
in the Plant Zero Parking Lot at East 4th St. and Hull St.
The Black Factory, artist William Pope.L’s art performance/social service installation on wheels, stops by the Artspace and ArtWorks as part of its final cross-country voyage, sowing provocation and discussion on race, difference and community across the America.
The Black Factory requires the participation of an audience to do its work. Over the four hour performance, the three person crew engages the audience, stops people on the street, feeds them, cajoles them and provokes them all in the name of forging a new dialogue about race and community. And, 100% of the proceeds from the sale of Black Factory "Twice Sold" artworks go to the Art180 (www.art180.org). So stop by, take part in a one-of-a-kind event, and support an important community organization. Hey, and bring something (any size or object) that represents "blackness" to you to be part of the "Black Object of the Day" activity. For more on the Black Factory, visit www.theblackfactory.com.
