Absolutely Stable is a media installation that investigates the sensory experience of a space shaped by electronic information. Absolutely Stable uses data, image and audio fragments to create an immersive space. The viewer experiences a technologized form of seeing that relies on distraction, glance, and sensory overload. BIO Joyce Rudinsky works with electronic and interactive media to investigate lived experience in an information-based society. Her current projects are media installations that create immersive spaces where a viewer is able to explore and investigate through a variety of perceptions - aural, visual, and spatial. Rudinsky initiated the media performance collective, rudy, in 2001 in Chapel Hill to develop an experimental practice that expanded the boundaries of the expected art experience. She is an assistant professor at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill with a joint appointment in the Depardtment of Art and in the Department of Communication Studies.
