Rocks, Rivers, Raku A Visual Haiku Wabi-Sabi; "Nothing is perfect, Nothing is complete, Nothing is permanent." Form, Surface, Poetry. "I embrace the serendipity of Raku fired ceramics, form and surface as rhythmic poetic ritual. Like a broken egg shell, “Naked Raku” has all of the final slips and glazes broken away. The results are contrasting black line drawings on white clay, defined by the random cracks in the glaze. Carved wood is incorporated additionally in these mixed-media pieces for contrast and a Zen like focal point. Making is Transcendent." Rock Garden
Seventeen is the number of syllables created in three stanzas of 5, 7, 5, to create a Haiku poem.
