Artist Statement

I’m a collagist: of sound, objects, processes, and information. I alter or arrange elements, presenting concepts, narratives, and/or questions for the viewer or listener to explore. Memories are triggered by the sounds, materials, and objects used, even when disembodied from their original setting, purpose, or form. My intent is to create works that encourage both self-exploration and social examination. My most recent visual work combines collage and weak hand contour drawing, often using only discarded library materials. My recent audio work further explores nonverbal storytelling through the creation of sound environments.
