Michael-Birch Pierce is a Richmond based textile artist and designer, teaching in VCU's Department of Fashion. Their embroidered portraits have been featured at the Oscars, the Super Bowl, Design/Miami, SXSW, and international music and fashion festivals. Their embroidery is in the collections of Barack Obama, Shaquille O’Neal, John Malkovich, Mindy Kaling, and more. Pierce is represented by Quirk Gallery.
