Hollett-Bazouzi received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Art from Radford University. She is currently lead artist for the Virginia [Plen Air] Plein Air Painters, based around Richmond, Virginia, and is a docent at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
Linda says of her work: ":In my studio and plein air work I try to capture moments and views of sites that are under-appreciated or ignored, before they disappear. Even more, I try to capture the feeling associated with those views. My work is not about documentation; it is about passage."
Alla prima, au premier coup—all at once, first strike. My best work has always been about this. Whether outside or in the studio, once I’ve completed my thought process, I work until the painting is done, in a very direct manner, without layers. I paint with a palette knife and water-miscible oils.
