Making is an essential part of maintaining personal wellness. The process of "making" provides balance in this extraordinary year of the 2020 Global Pandemic with extreme political and social unrest. It is through the physical, emotional, and spiritual journey of finding center that we achieve balance.

My Ovoid-20 series is an exploration of "Finding Center" through solving the problem of combining naked raku fired ceramics and turned wood. These ovoids are simple forms with random surfaces that reveal the essential beauty of contrasting materials working together. The work conveys the balance and center I found in the process of making these pieces.
