Recently, slow, meditative stitching has found it's way into my creative process. Hand stitching marries well with hand dyed natural fibers and thread. Claire Wellesley-Smith coined this focused, limited stitch styles in her book, "Slow Stitch; Mindful and contemplative textile art." Also, as favorite poets inspire much of my fiber work, reflecting and testing out designs lengthen the process and begs for my patience!
