Artist Statement
I collect images and use collage as the initial mechanism to develop ideas. My studio practice examines multiple approaches to making art. My work allows me to explore the environment at a particular moment and to freeze the forms that represent that moment in time.
We shape our environment and we are shaped by our environment. Our memories shape our reality, but memory is faulty and relative to the one remembering. These dreamscapes are meditations on the changing environment and the enormity of all that is unprotected and all the things that will irrevocably be changed in the future. Each work is collapsable and can be folded or rolled into a portable size in the event of an uncertain future.
