Artist Statement

As a realist, I paint the world around me, and attempt to interpret and reflect upon our prismatic culture. As the title says, "View from June's Studio" is my depiction of the aerial view looking ENE from my good friend June Skalak's studio, not far from Artspace. In the foreground is the historic Richmond Railroad Museum, surrounded by roads and light traffic, with industrial structures decorated with murals and graffiti bordering the James River further in the distance.
