Artist Statement

I am entranced by flying at any time of the day, but an early morning flight from my hometown airport was particularly spellbinding. Because the view from above shows the nighttime lighting of the city still on and the sun light breaking through on the horizon, that fleeting, nebulous, transition from night to day becomes one fixed moment in time.
