Artist Statement
Artist's Statement: This work is made by building layers of oil paint mixed with cold wax medium. The wax encourages a random surface that suggests an organic nature. Next I add structure to the composition so that the piece represents the duality of nature and man. I am trying to create work that balances the effect of human choice with chance, futility, nature and other forces that we may not be able to control, understand or even recognize.
