Artist Statement

I work unapologetically within the limits of painting. I combine abstract, landscape and figurative elements in my compositions. The work is always improvisational because for me that is where discovery happens.

I am not a conceptual or sociological artist. I am simply affected by my environment and I process it through my art. The questions that interest me are the existential ones. I see these questions manifest particularly in the environmental and bioethical issues we face today and these matters form, if not a theme, at least an interweaving component to my current work.
