After retiring from Virginia Commonwealth University ten years ago, Chuck began teaching courses in collage and assemblage at the Studio School of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. For this group exhibition, he selected TEN students from over 200 he's worked with from the past TEN years.

Chuck chose these students based on recognizing their creative spirit and inventive personal artistic directions he observed in or more of his courses. These students will be exhibiting a body of work in either two or three-dimensions.

The exhibition includes works by their instructor Chuck Scalin, who will also be showing several of his own collage and assemblages along with his students. This work represents a wide range of directions he's explored during the past 25 years.
