APR / MAY   2011  EXHIBITIONS  BRIGETTE NEWBERRY & LAUREN CIFRANIC Fused Mixed Media Love Me by Lauren Cifranic by Brigette Newberry April 22 - May 22, 2011 Main Gallery Lauren Cifranic - Artist Statement I use a mixture of media, from encaustic, wire, charcoal, to acrylic and oil paint on wooden boxes and panels. I am interested in the process of layering media. These forms evolve as previous marks are concealed, added to, and concealed again while intuitively creating forms. With this body of work I explore confinement, freedom, and evolution. Therefore, some of the shapes and forms seem contained while others appear to break away from their boundaries.
