This series of new works addresses collected visual memories and associations gathered from films watched in my youth. The images, actions in a scene and pallets utilized in those created environments are filtered through the displacement and rearrangement of memory. My newest works pull from specific musicals, children's films and violent action films watched as a youth. This is a means of escapist celebration as they are positive components of my history of memories. These celebratory remembrances of the 1980s and early 1990s serve as the original material for my paintings. Revised and edited, the final results translate to formal abstractions hinting at a film still, but stylistically unique from their source material.
