    Artist Statement:

The forthcoming exhibition (June 1 - July 1, 2001) will include images taken in Paris with a Holga Camera. A Holga camera, being a plastic toy camera with a plastic lens, yields a dreamlike, impressionistic imagery that is befitting Paris, the City of Lights. Light leaks, flair, distortion, fuzziness and double exposures, intentional and otherwise, are inherent in the photographs taken with a Holga. In a Style Weekly (February 8, 2000) review of the show Cheap Shots, Deborah McLeod wrote "France is a place where magic constantly interferes with formality..." I hope that the photographs represented in this exhibit will once again demonstrate the magic of Paris.
